ROB JOHNSONRob Johnson has been competing in triathlon for over 10 years. After competing at Olympic Distance for several years, Rob turned his hand to Long course triathlons, finding his strength at his first attempt with a category win and 8th overall at his first long course race at Elbaman, Italy. Whilst still working full-time Rob competed in a few more Ironman events including Roth Challenge and Florida Ironman, and decided that in order to be truly competitive he would have to train full-time if he wanted to realise his dream of qualifying for the World Champs as a Pro. Last year Rob had a tricky start with an appendix removal just before his first race of the season and subsequently a frustrating recovery meant little racing. However, a positive return to racing form brought a 13th Pro position at Lake Placid. Rob is determined to show that the once 'shampoo salesman' can start to mix it with the top boys, it's just "work in progress!". |
